    Lab Grown Melee Diamonds Description


    Lab-grown diamonds are diamonds grown in the laboratory using equipment that simulate the growth environment of natural diamonds. Both lab grown diamonds and natural diamonds are real diamonds. The main chemical components of lab grown diamonds and natural diamonds are carbon.
    Lab grown diamonds is usually produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or high pressure high temperature (HPHT) methods.

    Colorless and almost colorless synthetic diamonds are usually type IIa, while only 2% of natural diamonds are type IIa. Type IIa diamonds are characterized by high purity (under a low nitrogen environment), and they exhibit transparency in certain parts of the ultraviolet and infrared spectra.

    HTHP: Due to the use of metal catalysts in the HTHP method, some metal will inevitably enter the crystal during the growth process, so it is magnetic. If the cleanliness is poor, it has strong magnetism. This probe cannot pass the latest drilling probes. HPHT synthetic diamonds usually contain metal co-solvent inclusions, which are black and opaque under transmitted light, and appear metallic under reflected light.

    CVD: Since CVD is a method of depositing and growing a diamond film on a substrate (substrate), it is easy to see the layered structure and water ripple-shaped growth pattern of CVD under a 10x magnifying glass, which is easily distinguished from natural diamond. CVD synthetic diamonds do not contain metal inclusions. But they usually contain dark graphite inclusions or other mineral inclusions, which are formed during their unique growth process.
